version of their JDBC drivers under the sun and poring over hundreds of web pages, it appears that this is the "solution" to storing multibyte characters in the database. This means that *every single string* that might contain multibyte characters has to be jiggered before being entered in the database and unjiggered upon removal. And if we accidentally forget, things will appear to be fine until we deploy to one of our multibyte foreign partners at which point they'll see gibberish. Yay! Too bad the Chinese didn't invent programming, then all this shit would just work. git-svn-id: https://samskivert.googlecode.com/svn/trunk@1417 6335cc39-0255-0410-8fd6-9bcaacd3b74c
